Lioness dies at Bannerghatta Biological Park

BANGALORE: Ramya, a 25-year-old lioness, died at Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) at 6.15 am on Monday morning.She was rescued from Komal Circus, Faridabad, Haryana, in 2001 and was 14 years old at the time of arrival at BBP Rescue Centre. She was under treatment  for the past two months. She was suffering from old age related problems.The lions normally live around 20 years but Ramya has lived for 25 years which is probably due to best health and biological care given in captive condition, BBP officials said.
