New Delhi: A day after reports emerged that a customer in California had found rat in his meal at fast food restaurant KFC, the company has denied all charges.
The company on Thursday issued a statement, claiming that the product suspected to a rat was actually a “white meat chicken”. It also alleged that the customer who posted the photographs in question had refused to “cooperate in the investigation.
The fast food retail giant further issued some more photographs of the food item, in a bid to present a “second angle” to the claims of the customer, who had alleged that the company served him rat instead of chicken.
In the statement, KFC said, “The customer refuses to cooperate in the investigation. The images the customer originally posted do not include this second angle because it clearly shows it’s a piece of hand-breaded white meat chicken."
According to the company, the customer intended to deceive people with “this hoax”, adding that they were considering all options.
An image allegedly showing a fried rat in KFC food recently went viral across social media, bringing much embarrassment to KFC. There were also demands for action against the US fast food retail giant.
