Thiruvananthapuram: A top IPS official was reportedly caught cheating in the LLM exams at Kochi. According to reports, Inspector General of Police of Thrissur range TJ Jose came to the exam hall with the photostat copy of some notes and the invigilator reported the matter. Jose did not hand over the material, but walked out of the exam hall.
Refusing to comment on the incident, the Mahatma Gandhi University Vice Chancellor said that he has asked for a report from the controller of examination.
Kerala Police sources said Northern Region ADGP Shankar Reddy will investigate the matter.
The invigilator concerned was reportedly not aware that the person in question was an IPS officer.
Jose was allegedly trying to copy answers from the papers in his possession during Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University LLM examination Crime-II paper examination held at St Paul's College, Kalamasseri.
Taking serious note of the incident, MG University has sought a report from the Kalamasseri St. Paul's College Principal.
Jose will be debarred, if he is found guilty, university sources said.
