BANGALORE: Following the BJP and Congress, the JD(S), too, has decided to undertake a drought study tour in the state and submit a report on it.Addressing newsmen here on Monday, JD(S) state president and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said that ten study teams comprising party legislators will tour the 123 drought-hit taluks of the state for 15 days from April 16.“We will verify the quantum of money released by the government to tackle the drought, additional funds needed and the response of the local administration to the people’s plight... we will submit a report to the Governor on the prevailing conditions,” he said.He averred that the JD(S) will not hesitate to launch agitation against the government if it was found lacking in taking remedial action. A delegation will receive the reports and call on PM Manmohan Singh to apprise him on the situation.
