Ranchi: A police head constable was killed and another injured when Maoist rebels detonated a landmine blast in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district on Monday, police said.
"Maoist rebels detonated a landmine blast between Banjri and Rosad village which comes under Kisko police station of Lohardaga district," officials said.
"The policemen were travelling on a bike and fell into the landmine trap which caused the death of the head constable and injuries to the other," said police spokesperson VH Deshmukh.
The injured security personnel has been admitted to a local hospital. His condition is said to be serious.
