India gives call records of Pathankot attackers as proof to Pakistan, seeks timely action against Jaish-e-Mohammad

Seeking action from Pakistan against the terror attack at the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot in Punjab, India has shared a dossier with the neighbouring country. The details of the dossier contain proofs of terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad's involvement in the attack.

According to sources, one set of evidence shared with Pakistan includes call records from Bahawalpur. The dossier also includes the locations and addresses from where the calls originated.

Reports suggest that National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval had provided to Pakistani authorities the details like the call intercepts. The attackers had made reportedly several calls to Pakistan, some of them brief and some long.

As per sources, the handlers from Pakistan have been identified as Ashfaq Ahmad, Hafiz Abdul Shakur and Kasim Jaan.

Based on the given evidence, India wants to increase pressure on Pakistan so that they act against the top brass of Jaish-e-Mohammad which is believed to be behind the attack. India has urged for timely action against JeM to ensure the arrest of the leaders of the terror outfit including their mentor Maulana Mazoor Azhar.

India has maintained that if Pakistan fails to act against the perpetrators, there will be no further talks between the two countries. Foreign Secretary level talks are scheduled to be held on January 14-15 in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued by Pakistan, it has claimed the they are working on the "leads" provided by India on the terror attack. " "In line with Pakistan's commitment to effectively counter and eradicate terrorism, the Government is in touch with the Indian government and is working on the leads provided by it," the statement said.

Extending Pakistan's deepest condolences to the Government and people of India on the "unfortunate terrorist incident" in Pathankot, a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We understand the pain of many families who have lost their dear ones in this tragedy, as Pakistan itself is a major victim of terrorism."
