People often lead a lifestyle filled with hustle and bustle. However, everyone wants an escape from it. To serve the same, a place named Vedic Village Homestay located in Gokarna, Karnataka is all you need. This place is not only a destination for peace and an escape from the hustle-filled daily life but also a retreat that offers an experience of the Vedic period.

According to News18, an engineer in Mallapur, Rajeev Bailakeri left his job seven years back and came back to Gokarna due to some personal issues. After coming back to his hometown, Rajeev thought of building a homestay with a museum in it. He planned out the homestay with some of the demanding aspects such as introducing the experience of the Vedic period. This homestay marks its speciality by indulging Vedic studies and Uttara Kannada art forms as well.

Besides, the museum in the homestay also houses a different kind of gardening style. It has the Japanese style of landscape gardening along with Zen Garden, Nepal, and Bhutan styles. In the museum, the guests are introduced to an ancient stone tulsi basket called Halakkis, an earthen basket, a bamboo umbrella and Yakshagana masks.

In one of the rooms of Bailakeri’s collection, the guests can also see the first camera, a British-era passbook, Mahatma Gandhi’s cremated drink, old knives, Maharani Ahalyabai Holkar’s belongings, and some of the artefacts as well.

The homestay is located near the Inspection Bangalow, IB Road, beside the water tank, Banglegudda, Gokarna, Karnataka.

Homestay Package

The homestay offers a silver package of Rs 5,745 per cottage, which includes complimentary breakfast with coffee or tea. A cottage in the homestay can accommodate 4 adults in its two-room unit. Apart from this, an extra bed can be taken at an additional fee of Rs 1,145 per person.

The homestay allows free accommodation for the children below 5 years of age. Along with this, sightseeing visits are also organised by the homestay administration.
