New Delhi:Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh topped an IBNLive cinema poll to be crowned the Best female and male of 2013, signifying the impact which the film left on the music connoisseurs. In response to an IBNLive poll we conducted earlier this year, we asked our audience to vote for Indian cinema's top performers in several categories.

Arijit Singh, who had wowed his fans with his spell-bounding voice for 'Tum Hi Ho' (Aashiqui 2), was a clear winner in the best male singer category. Arijit got 63.91% votes as compared to Ankit Tiwari who got 12.6% vote for another popular song 'Sunn Raha' of 'Aashiqui 2'. In the best female singer category, it was Shreya who earned 54.25% votes.

'Aashiqui 2' songs became a nation wide sensation and it came as no surprise that the music directors of 'Aashiqui 2' received the maximum votes - 43.81%. The award was well deserved as the music of the movie received accolades from everywhere. The other contenders were AR Rahman (Raanjhanaa) with 23.85% votes, Pritam (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) with 11.67% votes and Shankar Ehsaan Loy (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) with 5.76% votes.

When it came to choosing the best costume, the users were clearly smitten by the ornate blouses and riot of colours in those heavily embroidered ghaghras that Deepika Padukone donned in Ram Leela. Maxima Basu and Anju Modi win this year's award for Best Costume with a staggering lead of 72.72% of the votes.

The extremely popular 'Chota Bheem and the Throne of Bali' has been voted best animated feature film, courtesy a whopping 64.81% of the total votes in its favour. The animated film is based on the popular character Chhota Bheem and his friends. 'Chhota Bheem and the Throne of Bali', the sixteenth movie in the Chhota Bheem series, was distributed by YRF and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.

Gujarat and its culture came alive in Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che' and got the nod from the readers for its detailed screenplay. With 45% votes, Pubali Chaudhari, Supratik Sen, Abhishek Kapoor and Chetan Bhagat were adjudged as the big winners in the Screenplay category for the film 'Kai Po Che'.

Production designing is one area of filmmaking that often goes unnoticed, but you can't expect a good film without the help of this department. In response to IBNLive poll, the readers gave maximum votes 41.59% to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Goliyon ki Rasleela - Ram Leela'. The majestic and grand sets in the film are the result of the sweat and blood of production designers. As is the case with all Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies, the work of a production designer is seen in each and every frame of the movie.

Sarit Chatterjee, Ganesh Gangadharan and team of Dhoom 3 proved how important the sound is to make a film authentic. We hear thousands of voices around us, but very few of them on screen. A sound designer's job in Bollywood is clearly dependent on the mindset of the director because most of the times they don't get a free hand to experiment. Like good war films, we hear good reference sounds in 'Dhoom 3', and especially the bike's sound has been worked upon. From among the top 5 movies that made it to the list of Best Sound Designing, Sarit Chatterjee, Ganesh Gangadharan, and team for Dhoom 3 emerge victorious with an impressive 46.82% of the total votes polled in its favour!

A story of an individual who has trouble alienating himself from his past, 'Maazii' got 40% votes from readers and emerged as the Best Indipendent film of 2013. The film created a good buzz despite a limited release and shooting on realistic locations made it a film to watch with attention. Jaideep Chopra found his characters in crime affected areas and the audience accepted his selection.

Arif Sheikh's sleek work in Nikhil Advani's thriller 'D- Day' got a whopping 50% votes for making the spy drama taut and gripping. Chandrashekhar Prajapati's work in war thriller 'Madras Cafe' was a far second as it got 27% votes in best editing category.
