New Delhi: Violence in Jammu and Kashmir shows no signs of abating.
Hurriyat Conference leaders and others coordinating the agitation in the state will march to Pampore to condole deaths in violence, including the demise of valley leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Unlike the last march to LoC along with fruitgrowers to protest against the economic blockade in the region that was thwarted by the state, this march is being allowed.
The state administration says it doesn't perceive the agitation as one of hostility but as a peaceful condolence meeting.
The march is scheduled to begin moments from now. Prominent Hurriyat leaders and members have not been detained or placed under house arrest and will participate in the event.
More than 20 people died in clashes with the security forces in the last two weeks.
The march coincides with the last day of the Amarnath Yatra and the ritual of Chadi Mubarak will begin soon.
Meanwhile, PM Manmohan Singh has directly told Pakistan PM Gilani to exercise verbal restraint. Prime Minister reportedly told his Pakistani counterpart that both countries should adhere to the peace process and refrain from making "harsh statements" against each other.
Singh advised Gilani when the latter called him last evening to congratulate him on Independence Day.
Singh also asked Gilani whether he'd be at the UN General Assembly next month -- holding out the possibility of a summit meeting on the sidelines.
