The High Court on Wednesday ordered issuance of notices to state government, Home Secretary, Commissioner of Police Mangalore Rural in connection with the Public Interest Litigation filed against the attack on young women and men in Mangalore by alleged activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike on July 28. Hearing the petition, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice Aravind Kumar observed that this was a shameful incident. They further directed the submission of an investigation report with details of the people involved in the attack within seven days and adjourned the petition for two weeks.
