BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday pulled up state government for not following its directions regarding a case of land acquisition.
One Mathekar Teharunnissa had filed a writ petition challenging the manner in which the state government had acquired their land for Aero Space project near Devanahalli by giving them only 30 days to vacate the land. The government had offered them Rs 57 lakh an acre as compensation.

The High Court had earlier asked the state government to place the case's records and reply to its questions.

Justice D V Shylendra Kumar observed: "Initial questions such as how the project took shape, at whose proposal it was started, what was the initial estimation of the extent of land required for such a project, in what manner it was to go about, what was the role played by a professional body like the respondentboard as in the scheme of the Act, and such aspects are even today not forthcoming."

'File a reply'

Justice Kumar directed the registry to club the case with another case of similar nature.
