BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Tuesday issued fresh notices to the government and promoters of Mantri Square on proposed construction of theatres on the mall’s eighth floor. The division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh directed the respondents to file their objections in four weeks and adjourned the case.A PIL has been filed challenging the proposed construction of six-screen multiplex on the eighth floor of the mall. The petitioner has contended that this will cause traffic jams on the already- busy Sampige Road as these theatres will be able to accommodate 1,400 people.Further, the petitioner has contended that the mall’s promoters will be violating the bylaws if they go ahead with the proposed construction.According to the mall’s sanctioned plan, it should be providing parking space to more than 580 cars while it has space for only 300 cars.
