Over the next few months, Google plans to incorporate more Google services to 'Account Activity'.

New Delhi: Search engine Google has launched 'Account Activity' -- a new service that collates activities of users on all Google-owned sites including the popular 'Gmail' and 'YouTube' offerings.

The service would provide information to the users on a monthly basis. "Sometimes it's helpful to step back and take stock of what you're doing online...If you sign up (for Account Activity), each month we'll send you a link to a password-protected report with insights into your signed-in use of Google services," Google Product Manager Andreas Tuerk said in an official blog.

He added that knowing more about account activity would help users take steps to protect their Google accounts. "For example, if you notice sign-ins from countries where you haven't been or devices you've never owned, you can change your password immediately and sign up for the extra level of security provided by 2-step verification," he said.

Over the next few months, Google plans to incorporate more Google services to 'Account Activity'.

"We hope this feature helps you better understand and manage your information on Google," he said. Google had recently introduced a new privacy policy, allowing the firm to track users across various services to develop targeted advertising.

This move was criticised by various consumer advocacy groups.

Google had said it aims to simplify and unify its policies across its various services such as Gmail, YouTube, Android mobile systems, Google+ social network and Internet search.

This would improve the user experience across the various products, it had said.
