Google has announced that Google Latitude, its location sharing service, will no longer be a part of the Google Map
New Delhi: Google has announced that Google Latitude, its location sharing service, will no longer be a part of the Google Maps app and that it is retiring the service on August 9, 2013.
Google is aggressively pushing its social networking service Google Plus and the Latitude retirement is also a part of the process. Google has added location sharing on the Google Plus Android app and says the feature will be soon added for iOS.
"After August 9, your Latitude friends list will be deleted and you'll lose the ability to share your location with them. There will also be some changes to Location Reporting and Location History, including changes to third-party applications that use Google Latitude," Google said in an email to Latitude users.
