Amrita University is organising an international conference on security of internet of things (SecurIT 2012) on the Amritapuri Campus at Kollam from August 17 to 19. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) secretary V K Saraswat will inaugurate the conference. J Satyanarayanan, Secretary, Department of Information Technology (DIT), will attend the conference.
An online interaction with Robert Elliot Bob Kahn, the father of Internet, and Mervin Minsky, the father of Artificial Intelligence has also been scheduled as part of the conference, said Krishnashree Achuthan, director, Amrita TIFAC (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council) CORE in Cyber Security.
Others attending the conference include Esther Dyson, founder of iCANN, Vijay Bhatkar, founding director of CDAC and chairman of IIT Delhi, Andrew Tanenbaum, author of Basic Book on Operating Systems, and Ross Anderson, crypto expert.
The conference aims at bringing together researchers, practitioners, students and ethical hackers around the globe. The conference will offer different formats to encourage dialogue and participation ranging from technical presentations, posters, hands-on workshops and tutorials on various key subjects of interests.
