WARANGAL/HYDERABAD: Mohammed Nazir, who had killed P Swati, a final-year engineering student who rejected his overtures, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on the railway tracks in Hasanparthy mandal in Warangal district on Sunday.Though Nazir’s parents smelt something foul in their son’s death, police maintained that the accused committed suicide, fearing arrest.Meanwhile, the condition of Lakshman, another jilted lover who slit his own throat after murdering a girl, Rafia, at Kamareddy in Nizamabad district on Saturday, is said to be serious and he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital.Nazir, who was at large after killing Swati near Podduturu Gardens on Saturday night, was found dead on the railway tracks near Komatipally village in Hasanparthi of Warangal. His body was found by railway workers around 9.30 am on Sunday.Swati was a BTech final-year student of Talla Padmavathi Engineering College and appeared for a placement interview at a private institution at Kazipet on Saturday morning. She returned home in the evening and went out to drop her friend, Rama, off at her home on her moped.Nazir, who hailed from the same locality, followed her on his two-wheeler and as Swati reached Podduturu Gardens, he intercepted her, took her aside and stabbed her 12 times. The girl died the same night while undergoing treatment. After attacking Swati around 7.30 pm, Nazir made a call to his mother.Police are going through the call details of Nazir to ascertain whom he had called after the attack.According to police, the duo had been known to each other in the recent past.“Nazir used to trail Swati whenever she visited her relative’s shop at Gopalpur. We warned Nazir several times asking him to keep off Swati and we also cautioned our daughter,’’ her parents said.Nazir’s family members, however, expressed doubts over the death. “Nazir’s left hand was severed and there were several injuries on his body.We apprehend some foul play,’’ they said.“He was not a coward to commit suicide,’’ Nazir’s grandfather said.
