CHENNAI: In Dec 2010, Chef Damodar created a world record for the longest cooking marathon. A couple of days ago, he launched a cook book that has the Guinness recipes in the presence of MP Nirmala, IAS, Commissioner for Land Reforms, Govt of TN, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Anthony Michael, GM, Hotel Savera, recently at the hotel. He said that men and children must also try their hand at cooking. This celebrity chef, who has more than 20 recipe books to his credit, has also hosted more than 1,000 cookery shows in various TV channels. “I am passionate about my recipes,” he explained. “I am elaborate in my descriptions and interact with my audience,” he said. The event saw a large turn out, from students who have taken lessons from him to fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of their hero. “I did not want to miss out this event,” said Mallika Badrinath, a leading culinary expert.The books contain 617  recipes and it gives you tips on how to whip up a Madrasi Kozhi Korma and Peanut Eggplant curry with just the basic ingredients in the kitchen. The two books (veg and non-veg), priced at `70 and `120, are currently available in Tamil. The English version will be released soon.
