Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsThe Farmer’s Day celebrations to be organised as part of the commencement of the Malayalam calendar year will be inaugurated by Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan at the Thirunakara Maidan here on August 17 (Chingam 1).A meeting convened by District Collector Mini Antony on Wednesday finalised the programmes for the celebrations. Farmers of Kumaranalloor, Kottayam and Nattakom Krishibhavans who have performed well will be felicitated at the function. The Minister will also inaugurate the distribution of vegetable saplings of the Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council, Keralam by handing it over to Residents Associations.An agro expo of fruits, agro products and agro machineries, Kudumbasree Payasa Mela, distribution of vegetable saplings and various art programmes will also be conducted as part of the celebrations.Stalls of Athma, Samghamaithri, agricultural magazines, Kudumbasree and NGOs will be organised at the maidan.District Collector Mini Antony said that programmes targeting the youth and senior citizens will also be launched as part of the celebrations.District administrative authorities will co-ordinate the programmes.first published:January 01, 1970, 05:30 ISTlast updated:January 01, 1970, 05:30 IST
