HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday asked officials to work out the funds to be earmarked for SC/ST sub-plan and prepare an action plan for its effective implementation. He also wanted them to review the lending programme to SC/ST entrepreneurs and ensure its proper implementation. He directed them to take up irrigation projects in the sub-plan areas on top priority basis including Siripuram Lift Irrigation Scheme in Madhira constituency in Khammam district.During a review meeting with the officials on Thursday, Kiran Kumar asked them to furnish details of the budget allocations for SC/ST sub-plan, the amount spent during last three years and the funds required for the next 5 to 10 years. Officials informed that the proposed `1,600 crore ‘Indira Jalaprabha’ programme is designed to benefit SC and ST community in addition to schemes like fee reimbursement and scholarships for their benefit. Kiran Kumar directed the officials to take steps to strengthen the nodal agency concerned for effective implementation of the sub-plan .
