BANGALORE: Former minister and JD(S) working president P G R Sindhia called upon bureaucrats and people’s representatives to draw inspiration from the report on administrative reforms of former chief minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah. He was speaking at a discussion on ‘Chief Minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah-: His Personality, Thoughts, Administration Memories’ here on Sunday. He said, “Hanumanthaiah’s administrative reforms are still prevalent and he should become a role model for politicians and bureaucrats.”“In the present scenario, administrative reforms are confined to speeches of politicians. They do not implement any such things. The ‘Surajya’ party floated by Hanumanthaiah is no more today. Those who wish to float their own party should focus on this too. Surajya could not survive as it failed to win people’s confidence,” Sindhia observed.Speaking on the occasion, MLC and Chairman of PES Group of Institutions Dr M R Doreswamy said, “Text Book Committee has failed to give importance to Hanumantaiah. Except some reference of Hanumanthaiah in the eighth standard text book, there is no mention of his achievements as chief minister in any other text books of the State.” Doreswamy called upon the authorities of text book authority to wake up and do something in this regard. Former chairman of the State Legislative Council V R Sudarshan said, “Under the administration of the tainted politicians, there is a need to remember the administration of statesmen like Hanumanthaiah.” Newly-elected Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pundalika Halambi and others were present.
