As reports go - the India release of this crime novel turned movie - has been cancelled.

New Delhi: All those waiting for the release of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ in India are going to be disappointed. As reports go – the India release of this crime novel turned movie – has been cancelled.

‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ is the first book of the ‘Millennium Series’ by Stieg Larsson has been turned in to a movie starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. Directed by David Fincher– the movie has already had a US release but India was in the waiting list.

Reports say that the director was not willing to cut out steamy love making scenes, including one lesbian love scene, from the movie as per the requests of India’s Central Board of Film Certification. There is also a rape and torture scene in question that Fincher has refused to cut off.

The movie has already managed to capture a sizable box office chunk since its release and India is not going to be a part of that. ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ was awaited even more eagerly since Rooney Mara got the nominations for the Best Actress at the Oscars.
