New Delhi: The national capital is heading for trouble as over 1.5 lakh MCD employees have gone on an indefinite strike alleging they haven't been paid salaries for three months.

The striking MCD workers have upped the ante by threatening to hold demonstrations and pile up garbage across various zones. They have also threatened to hold protests outside the residence of Delhi ministers by burning their effigies and pile up garbage.

Meanwhile, though the MCD schools are open, the classes are irregular as teachers have also gone on strike.

This comes even as the Delhi government and the MCD are engaged in a blamegame.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled corporations are accusing the state of engaging in petty politics by not releasing funds. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has maintained that it has released allocated funds to the MCDs on time.

The MCD workers have decided to hold protest outside residences of Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain and Gopal Rai.
