Delhi Cops Arrest Gang of 4 For Murdering Two Men After Mistaking Them As Robbers
Police said it was a case of mistaken identity as Mukesh and Yadav were not associated with Anand and Mohit

In a bizarre case, Delhi police have arrested four men for allegedly killing two men in a case of mistaken identity in Outer Delhi’s Ranhola area. Police said the accused wanted to take revenge over a heist and assumed the victims were the robbers’ associates.

Two men were found dead with stab wounds near Ranhola’s fish market last Sunday, March 17. The deceased were identified as Mukesh (34) and Rajesh Kumar Yadav (33).

Both bodies were found metres away from each other, police said.

Subsequently, police formed a team to probe the matter and find information about the accused. The team checked CCTV footage of the area and zeroed in on four suspects — Gaurav alias Gauri, Keshri Pandey, Sandesh, and Gaurav, according to a report by Indian Express.

The accused were apprehended and during interrogation, they told the police that one of their friends, Puneet, was robbed by miscreants named Anand, Mohit alias Murga, and their associates near Nala Jai Vihar on March 15 at around 8 pm.

To take revenge, the four reportedly began looking for Anand and his associates.

On March 17, the accused received inputs that some associates of Anand and Mohit were consuming alcohol near Machhi market in Harphool Vihar.

The accused reached the spot on two motorcycles and found Mukesh, Yadav and their friends there. Assuming them to be Anand and Mohit’s associates, the accused attacked the deceased with knives and lathis, as per the IE report.

Police said it was a case of mistaken identity as Mukesh and Yadav were not associated with Anand and Mohit.
