The city police personnel along with nearly 40 platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police and City Armed Reserve would be deployed during the protest by various organisations over Cauvery row on Friday.
The police have also planned elaborate arrangements to handle the situation. Chaos and traffic jams is surely expected as the rallies are planned during peak hours with people numbering in thousands expected to participate.
T Suneel Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and order) said that the 18,000 city police personnel along with nearly 40 platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police and City Armed Reserve have been deployed during the rallies. However, the possibility of motorists getting affected during the rallies cannot be ruled out. The police have made all possible security arrangements to ensure no untowardly incidents during the rallies, he said.
