BANGALORE: The North Division police have arrested 199 miscreants accused in 319 criminal cases and recovered stolen property worth Rs. 4.01 crore in the last one month. Among the accused, 182 have been involved in vehicle thefts, and 59 are involved in house breaking thefts, the police said. The recovered property includes 5 kg of gold, 167 two-wheelers and 20 four-wheelers. The eight, wanted in the Chandan jewellers robbery case have also been arrested. The Mahalakshmi Layout police arrested a 45-year-old woman and her 19-year-old daughter, both working as house maids, who used to steal valuables from their employer’s houses. The accused have been identified as Padmamma and Preethi (19), natives of Mysore, the police gavedetails.
