Chennai: World No 2 and top seed Rafael Nadal coasted to an easy win over world No 97 Rainer Schuettler at the Chennai Open first round on Tuesday.
Nadal needed just under an hour and half to demolish his German opponent 6-4, 6-2.
Nadal had lost in the first round of the Chennai Open in 2005, but made sure that it wouldn't happen again.
The Spaniard is in fact the favourite to win this tournament.
India's Karan Rastogi caused an upset by beating Brazilian Thiago Alves 6-3, 6-4.
