BANGALORE: Following a bomb blast at the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, security at the Karnataka High Court has been beefed up with the introduction of new security measures.For the first time in the history of the HC, private vehicles and those of the advocates were not allowed inside the court premises on Thursday.Vehicles of judges, judicial officers and senior government officials alone were allowed inside.A large number of Karnataka State Reserve Police and City Armed Reserve personnel were deployed at the HC.As many as 40 extra police personnel, each carrying a weapon, were posted at the entry gates.Apart from manual checks, they also conducted checks with hand-held weapon detectors.Entry was restricted at the main gate and the police directed all the advocates and the public to go through weapon detectors.Nobody was allowed inside the court without a proper identity proof.There were more than 10 weapon detector doors installed on the court premises.Each gate and corridor w i l l now have two CCTV cameras.Chief Justice J S Khehar called Home Minister R Ashok and gave his suggestions on security measures in the court, and advised the advocates and the public to co-operate with the police during checks.
