A probe conducted by the state vigilance commission revealed that the management college has been selling management seats for lakhs of rupees.

A management seat scandal rocked one of the top management colleges of the national capital after an investigation revealed that Jagan Institute of Management Studies in Rohini was selling seats.

The probe, conducted by the state vigilance commission, revealed that the management college has been selling management seats for lakhs of rupees.

Following a complaint by a student, the state vigilance commission conducted a sting operation to discover the wrongdoing. College officials were caught on camera asking for Rs 11 lakh in exchange of Bachelors in Business Administration seat.

The college accountant confessed to the crime and was later taken into police custody.

Talking about the investigation, SDM Mitali Goel said, "We did a sting on the college, and we have confirmation that a lot of money has been exchanged. We caught them on camera taking Rs 11 lakh from us."

The student who filed the complaint said that he had approached Delhi Chief Minister's office over the issue after he was declined admission into the college as he did not pay Rs 5 lakh demanded by the institution.

"They asked us for Rs five lakh. We requested them to get the admission done without money. They declined it and said that no admission would be granted without any money," he said.

The student further said that following his complaint, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal constituted a team and sent them to the college with money. "On CM's orders, the SDM from Rohini came and saw that lot of money transactions happen here," he added.
