KOCHI: Dubai Music Festival will see a 10-member team rendering carnatic music for 12 hours non-stop in Dubai on Friday.K G Jayan, Pranavam Sankaran Namboothiri, Nedumangad Sivanadan(violin) and others will enrich the festival. The programme, organised jointly by Dubai Indian Consulate and Dubai Art Lovers’ Forum (DALA), will feature the traditional nuances of carnatic music.The 10-member team headed by composer, Poornathrayee Jayaparakash, will present a programme similar to the Uthram Thirunal Poornathrayeesha Sangeetholsavam, which has been going on at Sree Poornathrayeesha Temple for the past 30 years. “We have designed the programme on the likes of Uthram Sangeetholsavam,” said Jayaprakash.The music show will begin with the soulful rendition of five gems of carnatic music, Thyagaraja’s pancharatna keertan aalap, he said. This will be followed by selected compositions of legendary composers, Thyagaraja, Deekshithar and Shyama Sasthri. The musicians will also present some selected keertans composed by Poornathrayee Jayaprakash.Earlier, Jayaprakash had organised the  Poornathrayeesha Sangeetholsavam in Hyderabad and Chennai. “We hope to spread the splendour of carnatic music in Gulf countries, he said.“I have been an active part of the ongoing Sree Poornathrayeesha Sangeetholsavam (as part of the Uthram Thirunal Sangeetholsavam at Sree Poornathrayeesha Temple), said P K Sajithkumar, chief coordinator of the programme and CEO of JRG International. The other team members include Chandramohan (vocal), Cherthala Dinesh, Tripunithura B VIjayan (mridangam) and Ayyappan (moorsing).
