CHENNAI: A writ plea has been made in the Madras High Court to cancel recognition given to all the private matriculation schools established after 1976. Petitioner R Velu, former union railways minister for state and PMK functionary said the State government in 1976 published a Code of Regulations for Matriculation Schools, contrary to the provisions of the TN Private Schools Regulations Act. He sought to declare the regulations invalid and illegal and cancel recognition granted to private schools after 1976.
