Mumbai: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Tuesday paid homage to the victims of Nariman House, a Jewish centre and one of the sites of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Harper along with a few Rabbi (Jewish priests) visited the centre, being restored ahead of the first anniversary of the audacious terror strikes on November 26 last year, and lit a candle on the first floor of the five-storey building in Colaba in south Mumbai.
The Canadian Prime Minister is in the city for a business programme and is scheduled to meet captains of trade and industry.
Harper is being accompanied by his wife Laureen on the three-day visit from November 16 to 18. This is his first visit to India after taking office. He is scheduled to leave for Delhi later this evening.
During his stay in Mumbai, Harper will formally invite Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has been appointed India's ambassador for winter Olympics being hosted by Canada early next year, to take part in the torchbearer's rally.
