KOCHI: Bringing relief to the residents of Vaduthala, Chittoor and Cheranellore areas, the KSRTC has launched a service on Saturday.The bus will ply on the Ernakulam-Kacherippaddy-Vaduthala-Chittoor-Cheranellore Ferry-Palarivattom-Kakkanad route. Starting at 7 am, the bus will operate seven trips a day till 10 pm.“This is the first KSRTC service on this route. We decided to start the service following the complaints of the locals that the private buses were not keeping time,” said Hibi Eden MLA after flagging off the service at Kacherippady.During the peak hours in the morning and evening, passengers had to wait for long. The new KSRTC service will hopefully reduce their woes,” assistant transport officer Satish Kumar said. KSRTC had started another service on the Ernakulam-Tripunithura-Thiruvankulam-Chottanikkara route.
