British fugitive held in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The CID sleuths on Monday arrested a British fugitive Mohammed Ali Ege, who was involved in a murder and attempt to murder cases in the UK. Earlier, CID police had also arrested Ali’s younger brother Nassor Ali from the city. Both are British nationals who had obtained fake documents to get Indian passports.The CID had received a request from the Interpol, New Delhi regarding execution of an international arrest warrant against Mohammed Ali Ege, a British national against whom a red corner notice was issued, as he was accused of murder of one Aamar Siddiqui in Cardiff, UK in April 2010 and an attempt to murder case. CID police then started an investigation and arrested Nassor Ali on Oct 15.CID said Ege was involved in a murder and later escaped to Hyderabad.During searches, some documents were seized from Nassor which included Indian passports fraudulently obtained to give an impression that they were Indian nationals.The list of documents secured fraudulently by Mohammed Ali Ege are an Indian passport issued in the name of Abdul Malik, frrom the regional passport office, Hyderabad, an age certificate in the name of Abdul Jabbar from Nampally Government Hospital, two driving licences in the name of Abdul Mallik and Mohammed Abdul Kareem from RTA Secunderabad, voter IDs in the name of Abdul Mallik, Abdul Jabbar and Mohammed Abdul Kareem from the Goshamahal Assembly constituency and a PAN card in the name of Abdul Mallik.In pursuance of Interpol directions, the CID team apprehended the accused on Monday evening and registered cases under various sections of the Foreigners Act. To escape from police, Md Ege adopted different names like Abdul Mallik, etc. Similarly Nassor also adopted different cover names and even changed his appearances.
