KOCHI: : The rhythms of music and dance will thump in tune with healthy competitive spirit in every heart. The Adi Shankara College of Engineering and Technology, Kalady, is all set for ‘Brahma 2012 - Awaken the Creator Within,’ a national-level technical and cultural festival organised by students.The three-day festival will be inaugurated by V N Rajasekharan Pillai, executive vice-president, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, and will commence with ‘Thyagaraja Aradhana’ on February 15.The day will end with an enthralling classical dance fiesta led by actor Lakshmi Gopalaswami. ‘Lead India...Engineering the Future,’ an innovative contest, will be held to encourage youth to better the ailing society. As part of the event, a cycle rally will be flagged off on February 13 on the theme ‘Go Green’. About 100 colleges are expected to participate in ‘Brahma’.Close on the heels of the fusion dance by the students, the college stage will be set for dance contests. The winner will bag a prize of `48,000. On February 16, contests in paper presentation, quiz, (nostalgia) restoring the era of black and white, C programming, CAD modelling and band of ‘Brahma,’ a musical entertainer.With The New Indian Express as the media partners, the concluding day of the event will showcase contests in project presentation, web designing and musical talent hunt followed by a musical show by band Blue Diamonds.
