In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Karnataka for allegedly killing his mother in a fit of rage after she refused to serve him breakfast. The incident occurred in Bengaluru’s KR Puram police limits, where the 40-year-old victim lived with her son.
As per the police, the victim, identified as Nethra, a resident of Justice Bheemaiah Layout in KR Puram, hailed from Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district. She was working at a tech park in Bengaluru’s Whitefield, according to a report by New Indian Express.
The accused, meanwhile, is reportedly studying diploma at a private college in Mulbagal. His father is a farmer, and his elder sister is pursuing medical studies in Georgia.
The case came to light after the youngster walked to the police station on Friday and confessed to killing his mother.
As per the police, the boy slept without having dinner on Thursday night and his mother berated him for wasting food.
The boy told police that he was getting ready for classes on Friday morning and asked his mother to serve him breakfast, to which she refused. Both had an intense argument over it and Nethra told him ‘he was not her son’.
Enraged, the juvenile hit the woman on her head with an iron rod, leading to her instant death.
Following the incident, the guilt-laden minor reached the police station and confessed to the crime.
