BANGALORE: An undergraduate student was killed in a road accident after an unidentified vehicle hit her two-wheeler. The incident occurred near Karthiknagar on Marathalli Ring Road in Airport traffic police station limits on Tuesday evening.
The deceased, identified as Sowmyasri (20), was a BBM student in New Horizon College at Indirangar. According to the police, Sowmyasri and her freind Udayashri were on their way home on the former's twowheeler. Near Karthiknagar, an unknown vehicle hit their vehicle from behind and sped away. Udayashri, who was riding pillion sustained injuries. Sowmyasri was admitted to hospital where she succumbed to injuries. Reportedly, nobody has noticed which vehicle hit the twowheeler.

Sowmyasri was the daughter of one, Nagaraja Shetty, a rice merchant. An autopsy was conducted at Bowring Hospital mortuary. Airport traffic police have registered a case and are investigating to trace the vehicle that hit the twowheeler.
