Bangalore: An Ivory Coast national working with a city-based IT firm has been injured after being assaulted in a brawl over rash driving in Bangalore, police said on Tuesday.

Two persons were arrested in connection with the assault on Wandoh Timothi- aged around 40- near Agara main road while on his way home to Chelekare on July 12, police said maintaining that it was not a racial attack.

Timothi, riding a bike, got into a scuffle with two persons and the onlookers joined them in assaulting him, they said. "We could arrest the two with the help of documents that Timothi managed to take possession during the brawl," police said, adding the arrested persons were produced before a court which enlarged them on bail.

"Others involved in the incident could not be arrested due to identification issue, as most of them were passersby," they added.

Injured Timothi, who was admitted to a local hospital, has been discharged.
