THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: The State Government on Friday revoked the order replacing National Museum former director C V Ananda Bose with conservationist M V Nair as the new coordinator of the Supreme Court committee to assess the valuables in the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple vaults. The government would inform the opinion to the Supreme Court. It is learnt that the decision to revoke the order is based on the legal advice the State Government received that it would be better not to remove the chairman of the expert committee appointed by the Supreme Court. Instead, the State Government would appraise the apex court its decision not to extend the service of Ananda Bose.  Meanwhile, C V Ananda Bose felt that the decision to terminate his services was taken at the behest of some top officials. “The Chief Minister and Devaswom Minister were apparently satisfied with my performance. But it seems that some officials acted against me,’’ he said. The GO was issued earlier following the superannuation of Bose as the director-general of National Museum on September 20. The Supreme Court had directed the State Government to consider engaging Bose’s services as coordinator for a year if the Centre was not awarding an extension. As the Union Government did not extend his services, the State Government decided not to engage him on its own. The GO had also stated that Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar would be the new nodal officer to liaise between the committee and the government. It is this decision which has been rolled back.
