THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The district leaders meet of All-India Youth Federation (AIYF) decided to organise a mass convention against monopoly in trading sector on December 3. Various people from the socio-political small-scale sectors would participate. On December 9, an anti-monopoly ‘Jwala’ will be held in the Chalai market. The meeting held in the PKV Memorial Hall was inaugurated by P Ramachandran Nair, district secretary of CPI. The decision of Centre to allow foreign investment in the retail sector signals promoting multinational monopolies. The meeting pointed out that innumerable young men and women working in the sector may lose jobs in the wake of this decision. A decision was taken in the meeting to take stringent protests against monopolies.
