Citing the action taken by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Puducherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Monday urged Chief Minister N Rangasamy to write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for granting exemption to the union territory from the Common Entrance Examination (CET) for admission to medical courses.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the office bearers meeting of the party here on Monday.
Another resolution condemning the DMK and it’s leader M Karunanidhi for distributing pamphlets to mislead the people even though the AIADMK government was taking action only on complaints against former DMK ministers and retrieving the properties they had seized when they were in power.
Resolutions condemning the All India N R Congress government for the poor law and order situation, backdoor appointments to people hailing from the constituency of the Chief Minister and discrimination in distribution of relief to people affected in fire mishaps in ruling and opposition constituencies were also adopted in the meeting.
The meeting also urged AIADMK cadre to participate in a consultation meeting here on October 13 in which Tamil Nadu minsters O Panneersewlvam, N Viswanathan, A P Munusamy and Vaithyalingam would take part.
The party also petitioned the Inspector General of Police to take action against DMK Convener R V Janakiraman and Youth wing president R Siva for indulging in “false” propaganda against the governance of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in a bid to defame her.
