A faction of Gujjars, who started a march towards here from Shahpura on Jaipur-Delhi highway earlier this week demanding five per cent reservation, have postponed their march for ten days after holding talks with the Rajasthan government.
"After talks with the state government, we have given them ten days' time to take a decision. If the government does not decide on our demand in the given time, the community will discuss and take the next step", Former MLA Atar Singh Bhadana, who is leading the agitating faction said.
Representatives of the Gujjar community met Cabinet minister Jitendra Singh and expressing faith in the state government, decided to postpone their march, official sources said. Thousands of Gujjars from towns like Dhaulpur, Bharatpur and Dausa had reached the outskirts of Jaipur on Thursday.
