Abdul Kalam to teach at Delhi University
A letter from Kalam's office has been sent to DU's vice chancellor.

New Delhi: Former President A PJ Abdul Kalam will soon be seen holding lectures for the Faculty of Management Studies at the Delhi University.

Confirming to CNN-IBN, Kalam's office said he will hold 10 lectures in a year through one semester and is likely to teach economics and technology.

A letter from Kalam's office has been sent to DU's vice chancellor.

This is not the former President's first stint when it comes to teaching.

He has taught at the Anna University and been a visiting faculty at the Nalanda University in Bihar.

"Things are at a preliminary stage. No decision has been taken on when he will join and the other modalities have to be worked out," Mitra said.

The FMS had sent a letter to Kalam inviting him to join the faculty soon after his term at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Kalam has asked for details about the students' profile and course structure.

Kalam had while leaving Rashtrapati Bhavan said he wanted to teach after demitting office as the President. He has been a visiting professor at several institutions in the country.

Recently Kalam visited the IIT Bombay on its 50th year of foundation day. Over 5000 students and 400 teachers got together to celebrate Teacher's Day, and kick start the Institute's 50th year celebrations at IIT Bombay and who better to help light up the proceedings than Kalam.

During the interaction with the students, Kalam said, “As a teacher I will organise and conduct my life in such a way that my life itself is a message for my students."

The function was attended by several heavyweights from the worlds of Science, Technology and Business and they put forth their vision for the country.
