Intensifying its membership drive, the AAP on Saturday launched the online and SMS options for those interested to join the party in an attempt to have a volunteer base of one lakh by January 26 in Rahul Gandhi's Amethi parliamentary constituency.
"Those who want to resgiter themselves as a member of the party can either send SMS to the mobile numbers - 07798220033, 08082807715, 08082807716 or visit our party's website," party's media incharge in Amethi Viplav Awasthi said.
We have to make one lakh members in Amethi parliamentary constituency before January 26. Presently we have a member base of around 50,000 and we are sure that we would achieve the target, said Harikesh Srivastava, also looking after the party's campaign here.
The AAP has launched the membership drive in Amethi from January 12 and party leader Kumar Vishwas has announced that he would contest against Gandhi from here, which is their traditional bastion.
