The Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiring into the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan will submit the charge sheet in the case pertaining to the murder attempt against Chandrasekharan in 2009, on Monday.
Official sources maintained that the investigators had completed formalities in the preparation of the chargesheet.
CPM Onchiyam Area Committee secretary C H Ashokan is the first accused among the 15 accused in the case. The other accused are Onchiyam area committee member K K Krishnan, Kunnummakkara Local Committee member K C Ramachandran, Thalassery Area Committee member P P Ramakrishnan, killer-gang members Kirmani Manoj, M C Anoop, T K Rajeesh, Sijith alias Annan, Kajoor Ajeesh, Chetti Shaji, Pondi Shaji, Jemintavida Biju, E V Aneesh and Santhosh of Mambram, drivers of the vehicles in which the gang travelled in Onchiyam for the operation.
P M Manoraj, one of the accused, is yet to be arrested. Police said that Manoraj, who is absconding, arranged vehicle for the gang to carry out the operation and also he accompanied the gang many times to Onchiyam.
Officials added that the accused were charged with Sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons), 115 (abetment of offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life - if offence not committed) and 118 (concealing design to commit offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life) of the IPC.
Earlier, SIT had submitted a charge sheet in the murder case before the Vadakara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on August 13.
