18-year-old girl poisoned by father

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly fed some poisonous substance by her father near here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place on Thursday when Guddan was going to Meerut along with her father Kallu in a car, they said. A case has been registered against the accused under section 328 IPC (causing hurt by means of poison), following a complaint by the victim here, AK Singh, Station House Officer, New Mandi police station said.

The girl had approached the police to register her case in a serious condition, police said. The accused is absconding and the cause behind the incident is not yet known, they said, adding that investigations are on.
