- To make a bed in Terraria, you'll need to combine 5 silk and 15 wood blocks at a sawmill.
- You'll need a workbench, furnace, anvil, sawmill, and loom to see the bed crafting option.
- To set a spawn point, place the bed in a valid house and interact with it.
Crafting a Bed
Craft a workbench and place it down. You'll need 10 wood blocks to craft it. Use an axe on nearby trees to get wood blocks. You can also find work benches by looting Dungeons and Underground Cabins.
Craft a furnace and place it down. You'll need 20 stone blocks, 4 wood blocks, and 3 torches to craft it. Stone blocks can be obtained by using the pickaxe on nearby stone. To craft a torch, you'll need 1 wood block and 1 gel.
Craft an anvil and place it down. You'll need 5 iron bars or 5 lead bars to craft it. You can also use an anvil to craft weapons needed to beat bosses and prepare for hardmode.
Craft a sawmill and place it down. You'll need a 1 chain, 10 wood blocks, and 2 iron bars to craft a sawmill. To craft a chain at the anvil, you'll need 1 iron bar. Make sure all crafting stations are placed down beside each other. Interact with the workbench to find the sawmill icon.
Craft a loom and place it down. You'll need 12 wood blocks. Interact with the sawmill to craft it.
Use the loom to craft 5 silk. Each silk requires 7 cobwebs, so you'll need 35 cobwebs total. Cobwebs can be found in underground areas, along edges of walls or ceilings. They can also be found in bulk in Spider Caves.
Craft a bed. You'll need 5 silk and 15 wood blocks. Interact with the sawmill to craft it. You can now place down the bed to set it as a spawn point.
Setting a Spawn Point
Build a house that meets all requirements. If the bed is placed in the open, it will not work as a spawn point. This also makes you vulnerable to enemy attacks. The house must: Be at least 7-block wide and 5-block high (excluding ceiling, floor, and walls) or 9-blocks wide and 7-blocks high (including ceiling, floor, and walls) Be crafted from material other than dirt, such as wood, stone, brick, or glass Have a wall placed by the player (rather than naturally occurring)
Place down the bed. There must be enough space at the head of the bed for the player to stand. The bed can be placed in a non-rectangular room as long as the three leftmost tiles are open.
Interact with the bed. When done properly, you'll see the Spawn point set! dialogue on your screen. If you want to remove the spawn point, interact with the same bed again. You'll see Spawn point removed!
