Sending Gifts
Open TikTok on your phone or tablet. The TikTok icon looks like a white musical note icon with red and blue outlines in a black square. You can find it on your home screen, in an app folder or on the apps menu.
Tap Me. It's the outline of a person at the bottom-right corner. This takes you to your profile.
Tap the three-dot menu. It's at the top-right corner of your profile.
Tap Balance. It's in the first group of settings. This displays your personal TikTok wallet. Your current coin balance appears at the top. You can use these coins to purchase gifts while viewing someone's live stream. You must be 18 or older to purchase coins on TikTok.
Recharge your coins. If you don't have any coins or just want to buy some more, tap Recharge in the upper-right corner to do so. Tap the amount of coins you want to purchase, and then follow the on-screen instructions to purchase your payment. If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you'll process your payment through the App Store. If you have an Android, you'll process your payment using the Play Store. Once your payment is processed, your balance will update to show your new coins.
Enter a creator's live stream. You can only give someone a gift while they are live streaming on TikTok. To find someone who is streaming live, tap the Inbox tab at the bottom (the chat bubble). If anyone you are following now is streaming, you'll see a Watch button beside their name—tap this button to enter the live stream. You can also find live streams by tapping Discover at the bottom and searching for "Live Now." This will give you a "LIVE now" section, where you can discover creators with live streams that you aren't already following.
Tap the gift box. It's the pink box at the bottom of the live stream. This takes you to the gift shop.
Tap the gift you want to send. The number of coins required to purchase each gift appears just below its icon. The streamer will be notified that you've purchased the gift. Also, your gift and user ID will be publicly visible to all viewers. All gift sales are final and non-refundable. If you don't have enough coins to purchase the selected gift, you'll be automatically redirected to your wallet to recharge your coins.
Receiving Gifts
Start a live stream on TikTok. You can only receive gifts on TikTok when you're streaming live. To stream live, you'll need to have at least 1000 followers and be at least 16 years old. However, you must be at least 18 to receive gifts while live streaming. If you meet the criteria, tap the Create button (the plus sign at the bottom), and then swipe to LIVE, which is on the far right side of the bottom menu. When you're ready, tap Go LIVE to start your stream.
Receive gifts from viewers. When someone sends you a gift, you'll see the name of the person who sent it, as well as the type of gift. When you exit the stream, you'll be able to view all of your gifts as diamonds, which will display a dollar amount.
Tap X when you're finished streaming. This ends your live stream.
Tap Me. It's the outline of a person at the bottom-right corner.
Tap the three-dot menu. It's at the top-right corner of your profile.
Tap Balance. It's in the first group of settings. This displays your personal TikTok wallet.
Tap LIVE Gifts. It's just below your coin balance. Coins are just used for purchasing gifts and can only be bought with your local currency. When people send you gifts, your gifts will be converted to diamonds, not coins.
Find your balance and diamonds. You can see your total balance in your local currency at the top of the screen. Each diamond is worth about $.05 USD, and the amount in your balance is calculated based on the number of diamonds in the bottom-right corner.
Tap Withdraw to cash out your balance. It's the pink button at the bottom of the screen. You can now withdraw the money earned from your gifts.
Add a withdrawal method. Tap the + Add a new withdrawal method if you haven't already, and then select an account type. The account types and steps vary by region—PayPal is the withdrawal method for the United States. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up and confirm a withdrawal method.
Tap Withdraw to withdraw your funds. If it's your first time withdrawing money from TikTok, you'll need to withdraw at least $1. You can then choose a set withdrawal amount of $2, $5, or $20—after choosing an amount, you'll be able to make a withdrawal once per day as soon as your diamond value exceeds the selected amount. It can take anywhere from 15-21 days for your withdrawal amount to reach your PayPal account.
