This wikiHow teaches you how to downvote a post or comment on the official Reddit app for iPhone or iPad. You need a to log in to your Reddit account to vote on anything. Posts with more upvotes than downvotes will rise to the top of the page whereas posts with a lot of downvotes won't rank as high and won't be seen as much. Comments that receive a lot of downvotes become hidden by default.

Steps

Open the Reddit app. It's the orange app with a white cartoon alien in the center. If you don't have the Reddit app you'll need to download it from the App Store.

Tap the profile icon. It's the icon that resembles the silhouette of a person in the bottom-right of the screen.

Tap Log In. It's the button on the bottom. If you don't have a Reddit account you can tap SIGN UP and to create one instead.

Sign in to your Reddit account. Enter your username and password to sign in to your Reddit account. You need to be signed in to upvote or downvote on posts or comments.

Go to a post or comment you want to downvote. Look for a post you want to downvote on your main Reddit feed or tap the speech bubble icon below a post to view the comments.

Tap the "down-arrow" icon below the post or comment. Below a post's title or below the comment, tap the down-arrow icon and it will turn blue indicating you've cast your downvote.
