How to Clean a Nutribullet
How to Clean a Nutribullet
While the Nutribullet is relatively easy to clean, there are particular methods you should use when doing so. With a little soap and effort, you can ensure that food and leftover material is cleared away for the next time you need to blend. By cleaning the cup, blades, and power base, you can ensure that you're blending your food with a clean and sanitized piece of equipment.
Steps

Cleaning the Nutribullet Cup and Blades

Unscrew the blade from the cup. If the blade is still attached to the cup portion, unscrew it from the base before washing it. Set your Nutribullet parts on a counter and unplug the power base.

Wash the cup by hand or put it in the top rack of a dishwasher. The safest way to wash the cup of your Nutribullet is by hand. Run it under warm water and use a sponge and dish soap to thoroughly wash out the interior and exterior of the mixing cup. You can also put the cup on the top rack of your dishwasher if you are using a normal wash cycle. Do not use the sanitize cycle if you are washing your cup in the dishwasher. Do not submerge portions of your Nutribullet into boiling water.

Wash the blade portion with soap and water. It's important that you wash the blade portion by hand. Use a sponge and two drops of dish soap to get under the blades and remove any built up food that's been caught under the blades. Keep your hands and fingers away from the sharp edge to prevent cutting yourself. Do not put the blade in the dishwasher. High heat can warp and melt the plastic and ruin your Nutribullet.

Dry the cup and blades. Wipe the interior and exterior of the cup and blade portions with a dry rag, or you place them on a drying rack for up to an hour to air dry. Once the parts on your Nutribullet are dry, you can use them again. You should wash the blades and cup after every use of your blender.

Cleaning the Power Base

Unplug the Nutribullet. Before you clean the power base, it's important that there's no electricity running through your Nutribullet. Completely unplug the Nutribullet. Do not just turn it off, as it can still electrocute you if it gets wet.

Use a damp rag to clean the power base. Get a rag wet under warm water and wring it out thoroughly. Use it to go over the surface of the power base and inside the interior. Remove any food that's built up or gotten stuck in the base of the blender. You can also use a citrus cleaner to clean the power base. Citrus cleaners use the natural oils in citrus to remove deep stains or food buildup. Citrus will also deodorize your power base. Never submerge the power base into water. Never put the power base into the dishwasher.

Allow your power base to fully dry before using it again. Use a dry cloth rag to wash down your power base then allow the rest to air dry before using it again. You should wash your power base once a week, or whenever food spills onto the base.

Blending Soap and Water

Fill the cup with water and soap. Fill the cup 2/3 of the way with warm water. After the Nutribullet's cup has water, add two drops of dishwashing liquid into the cup. You can also add a coarsely chopped lemon to help clean the inside of your Nutribullet cup.

Screw the milling blade to the bottom of the cup. Turn the milling blade counterclockwise on the opening of your cup. Continue to turn until the milling blade is tightly connected to your cup. Your milling blade has one strip of depressed metal in the center of the lid.

Place the cup on the power base for 20-30 seconds. After your milling blade is attached, turn the cup over so that the milling blade is at the bottom. Place it over your power base and press down lightly on the cup until the blades start to rotate. Blend the soap and water inside of the cup for 20-30 seconds.

Empty and rinse out the cup. Pour the soap and water from the Nutribullet cup into the sink. Run water and rinse out the entirety of the cup from your faucet until the soap stops creating suds.

Dry your cup and blades. Use a rag to wipe down the interior and exterior of the cup and blades or use a drying rack and allow them to air dry before using them again. This deep cleaning method should be used whenever there is stubborn food or liquid buildup in your cup, or if you forgot to wash out food and it's gone bad while in the cup.
