Snorlax a very strong Pokémon that is better than the max evolution of any starter Pokémon. Snorlax can be caught so early in the game that your starter Pokémon will not have even fully evolved. Look carefully through this guide, and be sure to watch the video at the end.
Obtain the Bug Badge from Santalune City Gym. The Bug Badge is needed to catch Snorlax.
There will be a man who will tell you "to head to the castle".
Talk to the man in the castle.
Find his Pokémon.
Head to the balcony.
Watch the fireworks. After this, he will give you the Poké Flute.
Head back to the bridge on Route 7.
Hand the flute to the man.
He will awaken Snorlax.
Go into battle and weaken Snorlax. Do not defeat it, or else Snorlax cannot be caught.
Start throwing Great Balls. Make sure you have plenty of Great Balls before you go into battle.
You will eventually catch Snorlax.
Enjoy your new Snorlax.
